Bio
During the bicentennial of the Constitution and Bill of Rights, Mr. Roquemore founded the National Thanksgiving Foundation, which was “Officially Recognized” by the Bicentennial Commission. He arranged two Congressional National Years of Thanksgiving to commemorate those two events. He was invited to an Oval Office proclamation signing ceremony with President Reagan. Thirty-five governors and over 1,000 mayors also issued Thanksgiving proclamations and schools and civic groups held patriotic events nationwide to help the needy. Later, President and Mrs. George H. W. Bush were Honorary Co-Chairs. Bob Hope and Bo Jackson were National Co-Chairs. Prior to that, Mr. Roquemore was Vice President of American Capital Corporation in Greenwich, Connecticut. He serves on several Boards and lives with his wife of 31 years, Elaine Peelle Roquemore, and their five children in Orlando, Florida.
